Michael Antonio Hunter was born in the Bronx, New York to Tammy Daniels, a homemaker and Michael A. Hunter Sr, an entrepreneur. He is the eldest sibling to a total of four sisters.

In addition to acting and singing, Michael is widely known for his photography and art. He has photographed promotional images for Grammy winning artist Lil' Kim, model Amber Rose and work featured on Time.com and in Vogue Nippon as well as multiple billboards with designer, Stevie Boi. He has also done image work for brands like Pretty Little Thing and Budweiser with the NBA.

Some of his other photo clients include - amongst many more - Olympic medalist Alex Morgan and Hip Hop star, Trina.
